Free Next.js Starter Theme (CANDY // NEXT)
There are now 11 ShipUI themes. The new one is free.
CANDY // NEXT is the playful one. Fredoka display font, bubblegum pink and mint palette, polka-dot hero. If RETRO is loud and NOIR is sharp, CANDY is light and fun. Good for consumer apps, side projects, or anything where serious isn't the vibe.
What's Included
A stripped-down but complete starter. All the structure is there, configured and ready to build on.
Components:
- Button (solid, outline, ghost) with candy-styled hover states
- Scroll reveal animations on section entry
Page sections:
- Hero with typewriter cycling phrases
- Features card grid
Layout:
- Header with mobile nav
- Footer with link columns
- 404 and error boundary pages
Tech stack:
- Next.js 15 with App Router

No broken imports. No manual wiring. Install dependencies and it works.
Why Free
The free theme is a lead-gen thing, not a limited demo. You get a real starter with the full stack setup, all the design tokens, and the same defaults.ts content pattern used across every paid ShipUI theme.
What it doesn't include: auth pages, the full component library, the About and Newsletter sections. Those are in the paid version when we release it. For now, the free version is a complete starting point.
